- Features: Absolute position, diagnostics, error correction
TouchDRO Compatibility
AT1xx Series (Analog)
- TDA-4xx: Supported with sin/cos firmware
- DIY adapters: Not supported (requires analog processing)
- Setup: Requires interpolation configuration
AT2xx Series (Digital Quadrature)
- TDA-4xx: Full support, auto-detection
- DIY adapters: Supported with proper wiring
- Setup: Standard quadrature configuration
AT7xx Series (Proprietary)
- TDA-4xx: Limited support (check latest firmware)
- DIY adapters: Not supported
- Alternative: Use Mitutoyo's own DRO systems
Identification Tips
- Model number: Check the scale label for AT1xx, AT2xx, or AT7xx
- Connector type: 15-pin usually analog, 9-pin usually digital
- Cable marking: Mitutoyo cables often have model information
- Documentation: Refer to Mitutoyo datasheets for confirmation
Wiring Notes
- Use Mitutoyo-specified cables when possible
- Maintain proper cable impedance (120Ω for differential signals)
- Keep cable runs as short as practical
- Ensure proper shielding and grounding
Common Issues
- Wrong series identification: Verify model number carefully
- Cable compatibility: AT series cables are not interchangeable
- Power requirements: Some models need precise 5V regulation
- Temperature effects: AT1xx may need temperature compensation
