TouchDRO 3.25 Release Notes
TouchDRO 3.25 adds two functions for laying out work on a mill, a caliper readout for the lathe, and a cutting speed display next to the tachometer. This page covers 3.25.02 and 3.25.03, both from March 2025.
Holes Between Two Points
A row of holes is often dimensioned by its ends rather than its spacing: five mounting holes across a plate, or a row of rivets between two existing ones. The new equidistant hole array function takes the two end positions and a count, divides the line between them into equal steps, and saves every hole into sub-datum memory. Radius and Arc Cutting
On a manual mill, an outside radius or an inside fillet is roughed by nibbling: a cut, a small move on both handwheels, another cut. The new radius/arc cutting function calculates that sequence. Enter the finished radius, the cutter diameter, and the stepover, and TouchDRO saves a series of cutter positions into sub-datum memory, each one placing the edge of the cutter on the finished radius. Caliper Readout on the Lathe
Turning to a diameter means checking the work between cuts, and the caliper's own display is small. TouchDRO now shows a caliper or micrometer wired into the adapter as a full-size readout on the tablet, with a button that copies the measurement into the X axis as a diameter. Cutting Speed
TouchDRO now shows the cutting speed next to the spindle RPM, in surface feet or meters per minute for the diameter you are cutting. If your machine has no tachometer sensor, you can type the spindle speed in and get the same display. See "Tachometer Settings".
Also in This Release
- The sub-datum list can be filtered to the points that belong to one feature, so a large workspace is easier to work through.
- The axis display order on a lathe was changed, the name of the current configuration is shown in the toolbar, and the main layout was tightened up.
- 3.25.03 fixes automatic edge finding, which stopped responding after the adapter was power-cycled.
